‘Tuesdays with Dorie’ has been around for about 4 years now and has just finished Baking through Dorie Greenspan’s first book ‘Baking:From My Home To Yours’. Unfortunately I could not be a part of this group earlier but, I did purchase the book and tried loads of delicious recipes.
February is the start of a new baking adventure for this group where they will baker their way through Dorie Greenspan’s latest book ‘Baking with Julia’. The news is that I am part of this new adventure. I am really looking forward to bake along with other bloggers. I highly recommend that you guys buy both these books. I consider these books the most priced possession of mine and I am sure you will too.
This weeks recipe are the ‘White Loaves’. This was my first time to make bread at home and it turned out to be perfect. This recipe is a must try for baker who want to try something beyond the regular cookies and cakes. It was a little challenging for me because I tend to get a nervous while working with yeast but these loaves rose beautifully and had this light and airy texture. It was way too easy than I thought it would be.
I kneaded this dough with my hands and oh boy !!! it was quite a work out. I loved the aroma of freshly baked bread which made me wonder why I did not try baking bread before. I have to make this bread quite often now. Can’t wait to try the other breads in the book.
